BEYOND SELF STORAGE

TEMPE, ARIZONA

The Tempe project features an indoor climate-controlled loading and unloading drive-in area, a conference room, a management leasing office, and a commissioned art installation integrated into the main facade. The City of Tempe’s Art in Private Development (AIPD) program requires any new private development to include an artistic component.

studioNorth collaborated closely with local artist Daniel Moore of The Oxide Studio, working on the initial design and coordination throughout construction. studioNorth developed the initial mosaic paint pattern for the wall, which the artist then integrated into his concept of oxidized steel panels.

This collaboration was a unique opportunity for studioNorth, resulting in an art installation that not only stands out within a self-storage facility but also distinguishes itself from other AIPD installations in the City of Tempe.
