STEM HAIR SALON

In 2021, Stem embarked on a transformation project to rejuvenate a derelict 3,600 sf BBQ restaurant into a vibrant full-service salon.

The interior underwent a complete overhaul, revealing the beauty of the original wood trusses and weathered concrete floor as the walls were stripped back to the exposed brick. The narrow upper windows were extended to the floor, bathing the space in natural light. The former smoke pit found new life as an office and laundry room within a cozy employee break area.

The salon was thoughtfully planned to create a range of customer experiences. At the entry, a welcoming reception area features a blend of merchandise, seating, and a beverage station. Nearby, newly constructed accessible restrooms serve both the main salon and a serene massage suite, offering a private and tranquil escape. The nail and pedicure area is separated from the main salon, where ten hair stations provide ample room for future expansion. Finally, a relaxing shampoo area, complete with a separate lounge, invites clients to unwind while their hair processes.
